Swift events and talks we can offer

Are you involved in the housing sector or buildings industry? We’d love to chat to you and your team.

  • We offer short on-line or in person presentations and CPD sessions, or we can drop in for a quick chat and show you simple, affordable biodiversity solutions.
  • Talks are tailored to suit, and may be offered to developers, architects, council departments, housing associations, builders and roofing companies.
  • We bring along samples and advise on the newest swift conservation tools on the market, the latest in planning and guidance, and where best to position swift bricks or soffit boxes on your architect’s plans.
  • Get in touch with us here and we’ll help increase biodiversity within your latest project.

Not all birds nest in trees. It’s no coincidence that the House Sparrow, Starling, House Martin and of course the Common Swift are now on the ‘Red List’ of conservation concern. Only with your help can we alter this potentially catastrophic downward trajectory.

We offer group & community talks

  • Are you a member of the Women’s Institute, a rotary club, nature or gardening group? Invite us to give a talk to your group or community organisation.
  • We have fascinating 45-minute talks along with a 15-minute film ‘Every Swift Counts’ by our member Chet from Sheffield Swift Rescue about her work rehabilitating swifts which have fallen out of the nest.
  • Talks are then followed by a Q&A session.
  • Get in touch with us here for further information.

We offer school talks

  • We love to talk to children about swifts. Indeed, we’re trying to save swifts from extinction for future generations to enjoy!
  • Talks can be given to individual classes, eco or green groups, or the whole school at assembly time.
  • We offer a 30 or 45 minute presentation, which comprises of age appropriate slides and a couple of short swift videos.
  • Talks are then followed by a Q&A session.
  • We also provide a teachers’ pack with a quiz, reading list, and rescuing swifts leaflets.
  • We bring along swift housing samples like swift bricks and swift boxes.
  • We even have a life-sized toy swift crafted by local artist Aitch Ickle.
  • Get in touch with us here for further information

We do hope your school might consider installing swift boxes or swift bricks to engage pupils in the future, and of course to offer swifts a home, and we can donate a swift box to schools in less affluent areas of our city.

We hold swift stalls, swift walks and even swift & pizza nights!

  • Are you organising a festival or local event this year? Do you fancy sharing swift love/fascination with your community? Invite us along! We’ll bring along an array of leaflets, booklets, swift bricks and swift box samples and show our fab swift videos. We can even offer a swift talk and film – about 45 mins long.
  • We can hold Swift Walks, Swift Garden Parties or even perhaps Swifts & Pizza nights – they are all great ways to engage your communities.
  • Do let us know of any events you are holding. We will add them to the  Upcoming Events section on our website (and promote it on social media).

Get in touch with us here for further information on any of the above.
